4. KRFC Medical Charter


KRFC MEDICAL TEAM CHARTER

  • One Physiotherapists on duty - Tuesday 18.30 to 21.00
  • One Physiotherapist on duty - Thursday 18.30 to 21.00
  • 1st and 2nd teams have physiotherapy cover Saturdays

WHO CAN ACCESS THE SERVICE

  • Captains/Coaches should request an appointment (see bottom of sheet for contact details) for a player when physiotherapy assessment is required.
  • On training nights senior squad members who require immediate first aid will be seen, the exception to this rule is:
    1. Physio is pitch side with the 1st team
    2. Physio is already treating a player
    3. The injury is not reported immediately
    4. The injury requires hospitalization

  • KRFC paid up senior squad members can access the physiotherapy service at the club, however 1st and 2nd team squad players who require assessment/treatment to meet playing deadlines will be prioritized.
  • The injury must be reported on the weekend of it taking place. If the injury is from training, it has to be reported the week of the injury.
  • KRFC paid up colts members can book a physiotherapy appointment at the club only after consultation with youth section DOR (Andrew Keir). However, please note senior squad players who require assessment/treatment to meet playing deadlines will be prioritized.
  • Appointments will last on average 20-30mins (this may be altered by the physio)

If a senior squad member has their appointment cancelled, the physiotherapist will endeavor to see them using the next available/practical appointment slot.


  • Players who fail to turn up for a scheduled appointment without advising non-attendance at least 24hrs before the appointment is due to take place will be fined £5.00 by the club

WHO CANNOT ACCESS THE SERVICE
PLAYERS DEEMED NOT APPROPRIATE FOR KRFC PHYSIOTHERAPY:

  • Players referred onwards for investigation/treatment – i.e. G.P/Other Health Professional)
  • Players receiving/due for assessment/treatment elsewhere
  • Players with complex injuries KRFC medical facilities not sufficient to undertake/provide adequate care
  • Players with a chronic/pre-existing problems should see the KRFC physiotherapist privately at the discounted membership rate of £30 for assessment and £20 for follow-up treatment
  • Players with a non KRFC Rugby Sustained Injury will not be treated and should see the KRFC physiotherapist privately
  • Post surgery your G.P should refer you to an NHS physiotherapist or you can the KRFC physiotherapist privately
  • Under 16yr old players will not be seen and their parent/guardian should take them to their own G.P or you can see the KRFC physiotherapist privately
  • Players who have access to a physiotherapist at their academy should approach their academy for treatment

Additional note:
Abuse of any member of the medical team is a serious matter and will not be taken lightly. Please note that club membership could be revoked.
