Our first festival - Under 7's

We've had our first festival representing KRFC and it was great to be at home in front of family and friends.

We were fortunate enough to be able to enter 3 teams. Initially each team had 3 matches, at the end of which we were placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th in our respective pools before playing play-off games.

The coaches would like to make a point of saying how well the players behaved. They listened to the referees who in return were patient and took into consideration how new to the game all the players were. They played well as a team and were considerate opponents, handing back tags and shaking hands at the end. It was great to see them smiling whatever the score. What mattered to them was being able to play, and enjoying it.

Can I finish off with a few thank you's. I'd like to first thank Geoff Love (Fraser's dad) for supplying our new gazebo. It's a monster and already the envy of other teams; especially as it's in Kettering colours. Thank you to the players and coaches for all their hard work and effort. Well done and thank you to all the volunteers who made the festival possible, we do appreciate it. Finally I'd like to thank the parents for their unwavering support.

Don't forget it's Halloween disco this Friday, scary outfits at the ready.

This weekend we have a break from matches, training instead. See you all on the bank for a prompt start and, of course, the obligatory sharks and fishes. Fingers crossed for sunshine.
