Ashford

Kettering arrived bleary eyed, tired, dehydrated and hungover...and that was just the children! After a night of nauticalia, a little drizzle didn't dampen the team's spirits. The order of the day was good rugby played in some good old fashioned fresh air (with a tinge of sewage) and that's exactly what we got, really good rugby.
The Kettering touring Unders 7s were able to field two teams with assistance from a couple of Ashford players. So four games were played in total.
Ashford proved to be a very competitive opponent, the contests were very close, one match was decided by 'next try wins'...and yes Kettering nabbed the winning try.
The players were in fine form against Ashford, despite the late night, the team were really focussed from the off.
The previous day's superb performance was mirrored again with outstanding attack and defence. All touring players played their part thanks to operating two teams and enjoyed representing their club and showing off the skills they've learnt throughout the year.
Super tagging, tirelessly persistent with the attacking method of tagging put constant pressure on the Ashford team. There was some excellent support play again which gave the ball handler options at breakdown and in many cases one of two, three or four players could have scored tries when the ball was touched down.
The morning's games were a superb end to a thoroughly enjoyable tour. Roll on Easter Tour 2013!!!
