ABC, Easy as one, two, three or simple as Do re mi...

Due to a very busy Waverley Road, training for the Under 7s was back on the astroturf, the surface much loved by parents’ washing machines.

Approx. 30 players attended this session, another superb turn out of boys and girls ran out to train, especially considering that we're at the tail end of the season. ABC skills were the order of the day, served by Chez Tudor.

The first half of the morning’s training session was dedicated to three activities completed in a circuit style. The activities concentrated on different facets of general body and rugby specific play. Coaches facilitated activities that develop agility, hand-eye coordination, defence, attack and handling. The ever popular games of Bulldog were played, leaving a lot of players asking 'can we have another game please?'.

It was a pleasure seeing so many players really enjoying themselves and having fun whilst developing their rugby skills and knowledge.

The second half of the session was dedicated to mini games of tag. With so many players, 6 teams were made up to allow 3 games to play all at one time.

Next week sees the Under 7s playing at a Northampton Old Scouts tournament, because there is only room for one team and to ensure all players get game-time a mini tournament will be held at home. An email with further details will follow from Rachel.
