Hastings & Bexhill

Kettering arrived at Hastings & Bexhill on a slightly overcast day, however the rain stayed at bay for the Kettering touring masses. The Kettering Under 7s touring team included a couple of super keen Under 6 boys and numbered 12 players in total. Rolling substitutes ensured that all touring players played their part and joined in the fun at the 'battle of Hastings' (I'm sure that won't be the first time that pun will be used).

Kettering's new line up was in great spirits and eager to stamp their mark and give the other age groups a 'leg up'.

The Under 7s started with real vigour, the defence was very effective. The 'attacking defence' provided turn over ball which led to some really good scores. This relatively new weapon in the Kettering arsenal proved very effective today.

The Blues were also great in attack, identifying space and exploiting gaps. Throughout the game the good defence continued and players were looking to cover gaps and looped to cover break aways from the opposition.

This game proved to be the start of a very successful day for Kettering touring teams.

The second game of the day for the Under 7s saw Kettering play again with a tight attacking defence which provided more scoring opportunities through turn over ball.

In attack, the support play was excellent, giving options to the ball carrier even on break away runs. Recent coaching regarding player focus was very evident with Kettering looking good in both attack and defence for the entire first and second game.

After the game the team continued to train together and worked on their ABC skills. An intense session of run the Donut Hut ensued (pictures to follow)! The Tudor Football Academy rounded off a fun and action packed day for the entire Under 7 team.

The Kettering team left Hastings & Bexhill super happy with the players received a well earnt Thank You and round of applause from the coaches and parents/supporters at the end of play.
