With a long 4.5 hr journey to Exeter it was a fantastic turnout of 10 players for our touring side. Our Saturday games against Honiton were bathed in sunshine & glory as the boys split into two teams faced an equal adversary. Even the new "grenade" tactic as implemented by Rob Castley was taken up with much laughter & bemusement. The free ice creams for the players post match were very welcomed.
Following a very late Saturday night in the club & arcade the team was up & ready for the very wet & muddy match against Paignton. Paignton fielded 9 players so it was decided that a 9 a-side game could be played. We had a large pitch & both teams relished the 9 a-side game. With wet conditions & strong opponents this was a much more "physical" match.
Sunday evening brought the Tour Court which was a laughter filled end to the tour. Punishments were dished out for misdemeanours by players & parents. Deep fried bugs, marmite & chilli chocolates were consumed. It was all taken in good humour.
Well done boys you did yourselves, your parents & KRFC proud this weekend!
We would like to thank both home sides for their warm welcome, good coaching & refereeing staff. The parents for making such an effort bringing the boys along & especially the organisers at KRFC for organising a great tour. It must be a mammoth task & one which we are all grateful for.
