We were going into new territory when we sent a team to South Leicester Rugby Club last Sunday; as far as we are aware no team from KRFC has ever played there before.
There wasn't a cloud in the sky above the rolling Leicestershire countryside and it finally felt like a real spring day when we found the club hidden away off the Welford Road.
We had two teams to play, South Leicester and the Vipers. Both these teams were well organised but in both matches we acquitted ourselves well. The hosts allowed us plenty of time to warm-up and in-between matches which we used to practice some key aspects of our game getting all our parents involved to help. Perhaps the highpoint of the morning was a purple patch in our second game when we defended in a line, stepping up together and then went forward in attack, quickly recycling the ball and using our players in space. Both were passages of play that were as bright as the morning.
