U8s v Long Buckby

Kettering hosted Long Buckby for the second time this season, and yet again it was an enjoyable morning across the Kettering Under 8s squad.

Kettering’s squad was large enough to create 3 teams with substitutes, Long Buckby travelled with 2 teams, making the morning full of games. A training area was set aside for the team taking a turn not play in rotation.

Prior to playing, the squad was introduced to positional play and in particular the role of the Scrum Half. Scrum Halves were selected to play in each game, the boys absorbed this and implemented it well in the games.

The games were very open, Long Buckby were an equal match and it produced some excellent games. Kettering players should be proud of the effort they put in and their work rate.

At the end of game play the squad joined together for some work on the Bosh Pads, taking a strong position into contact and offloading to a team mate.

All teams received positive feedback once the games had finished, overall a very satisfying morning for the Kettering Under 8s squad.
