The Kettering Under 9s entered a 12-man team into the Kettering Festival. The rest of the squad trained on the First team try/dead ball area.
The Festival team played against Northampton ONs, Northampton Old Scouts and Towcester in their group.
The training team had some fun with games based around attack and defence. The boys finished their session by supporting the rest of the squad and watched them play their later games.
The Kettering Festival team were successful in their round robin by winning every game and making it to the semi-final against Oundle (the eventual festival winners). Oundle edged the game but the Kettering team left the pitch with heads held high after playing some terrific rugby and made a really positive impression on opposition, coaches and spectators alike.
All boys trained and played hard, their attitude and effort was second to none and puts them in good stead for the future.
It was also the first outing of the season for the team gazebo, proved very useful and a hit with supporters!
