Kettering Under 9s had their first taste of competitive rugby this weekend. Playing at Occupation Road, home to Corby's S&L, Huntingdon made up the triangular event.
Kettering were represented superbly well and able to field 4 teams (thank you parents and supporters). S&L and Huntingdon were not so fortuitous in numbers but collectively provided 3 teams. This meant lots of teams and therefore lots of games for everyone to be involved with.
Kettering were competitive across all games and enjoyed their first exposure with new rules that included tackling. The coaching staff took away lots of learning points and were happy that all players showed a lot of commitment and tried their hardest across each game.
Well done to all players, supporters, families and volunteers this weekend provided lots of fun and entertainment which was enjoyed by everyone. The rest of the season looks very promising and we all look forward to some enjoyable Sunday mornings.
Next week is the Kettering minis festival. Kettering U9s will enter one team, those not playing will be training at Waverley Road.
