After a 'winter break' and despite a 'no-show' from Stockwood Park, the boys got back into action with a fixture against Northampton Casuals which was played in an excellent spirit throughout.
Kettering were out in force with a squad of 23 players eager to make up for the lost opportunity of the previous 3 weeks of enforced layoff. The squad split into two teams of 'blues' and 'whites'.
The 'Blues' were first up to face 'Casuals' and after a close game Kettering ran out winners by two tries to nil.
The 'Whites' were clearly inspired by watching their teammates as in the second match they were able to better the first result by finishing 3-0 winners against a spirited 'Casuals' team who were far more competitive in both matches than the score lines suggest.
Man of the match for the 'Blues' was Jack Corke for his tremendous tackling and for the 'Whites' it was Dominic Taylor who is quickly gettting back to his best following his long absence due to a broken leg.
