Lions brought a strong contingent of 20 players which enabled both squads to field 2 teams with Kettering splitting into squads of 'Blues' and 'Whites'
Kettering 'Blues' had a strong showing in both their matches playing some good attractive rugby and winning the first fixture 4-1 and the second 3-1.
The 'Whites' had a much more even contest and although they took an early lead in the first game were disrupted by the injury to Stan which he suffered whilst at the bottom of a pile of players. Lions took full advantage of this loss in concentration and ran in two late tries to pinch the match 1-2 with the last play of the game.
The 'Whites' were able to refocus in time for the second game and produced a much stronger performance winning 3-1 to gain some degree of revenge for the first defeat.
Many thank to Leicester Lions and their travelling support for fully playing their part in an enjoyable morning.
