U10's Kettering V Olney

A great turnout this morning for our match against Olney. With a huge squad to pick from Olney decided to bring their elite players this morning. We will take that as a compliment to the kettering players ability & quality.
We put together two mixed ability teams with a break out drill session. This ensures that all the children get as much game time & practice as possible rather than standing on the sidelines watching.
Olney were well organised, fast & hard at the breakdown. Kettering were awesome in defence but a bit slower at the breakdown meaning we didn't win as much ball in the ruck as we could of.
During the half time & between games the coaches encouraged the players to ruck hard and not be afraid to pick out the ball from the ruck. As we always see from the squad they took on the coaching tips & improved as the morning went on. The players fought hard and showed great character. We didn't see anyone giving in & they gave it their all until the final whistle. This is a true testament to the team spirit that this group of young people have.
As DOR nick said at the end,sport is about how you deal with your disappointments as well as your highs. As coaches we're extremely proud of your children, they worked hard today.
