Towcester Away

On a cold & wet Rugby morning we made the trip to a farmers field just outside of Towcester Rugby Club. With the the poor weather & run up to Christmas it was fantastic to see the numbers who made the effort to make the journey this morning.
We had enough for nearly three teams but Towcester could only field two. ( I heard the others were trekking in the Alps for their training session).
It was always going to be a tough morning agains Towcester as we have faced them previously this season.
I saw some outstanding play today, Christians great sprint up hill in the last game to score, Frasers interception and try, Harry's total commitment all morning, Ben, Freddie, Shae & Oran putting everything on the line ( as usual), Toby causing all sorts of problems for Towcester to deal with, Charlie Castley making a great run up the wing only to be bundled off the pitch but picking himself up & carrying on, Thomas for tackling the biggest guy on the pitch, Max, Toku & Daniel for their work rate in the middle. I can't name everyone but you all put it on the line today.
Most of the players have been playing together & for each other for a few years now. Their commitment to the team, to listen, learn & improve is what KRFC mini & juniors is all about.
It was also great to see the newer players getting involved & improving. Charlie making a run forward, Ezra making a darting run, Josh for getting involved in break down, Zane making plenty of metres up the pitch. These may seem like small advances but that is what we are all about. I didn't see a ball passed forwards today. Enjoy the game & carry on making those small improvements each week.
Talking of improvement each week. Just look at the joy on Phill Jeffs face as he takes a warm up session on his own. Keep up the good work, stick with it & we will help you through.
