U10's extremely polite at the breakdowns but made up for it in the tackles

A short journey down the A14 and A605 saw the U10's take on Oundle RFC. Yep, the journey was that easy, but not for some!

Pitch location ... one of the furthest away from the clubhouse, but with the sun beating down the journey for tea and bacon rolls was a pleasant stroll.

After a vigorous warmup, motivational words of wisdom from Phil and a team photo with the new kit (kindly sponsored by S T Holford) the boys and girl were split into two teams.

Meanwhile, the main topic of conversation on the touchline was who would be first to leave Strictly! :-)

The first game of the season got underway, immediately some great tackles coming in from the young Blues side but confusion at the rucks led to a number of turnovers and Oundle opened up the scoring. Max Jeffs arrival at one of the rucks was too much for one Oundle player, but Max checked he was OK and shook his hand after. Great sportsmanship Max!

The remaining games followed a similar pattern, but notable mentions to the following for their awesome tackling: Thomas, Ella, Freddie, Oron, Shea and Harrison. Great forward driving runs from Harry, Christian and Toku. Match moment of the day went to Alfie with his awesome offload to Oron that saw him over in the corner. It was All Black quality!

Whilst the final scores were not favourable every single player should be extremely proud of playing their first game with all the new rules with gusto and enthusiasm. They can only build on this and go from strength to strength. #COYB
