Kettering U10s played their first game of the season this Sunday against local team Wellingborough.
A wonderfully bright and clear morning set the tone for a brilliant morning of rugby. The sun stayed out for the duration and the Kettering squad (all 3 teams) enjoyed their first competitive games of the season.
Wellingborough’s team played against each of Kettering’s 3 sides in turn throughout the morning. The other 2 non-playing Kettering sides trained and played against each other whilst they waited there turn to play against the Wellingborough side.
The games were always going to be a way to gauge how successful the early season training has been and a marker to assess what coaching points we should concentrate on going forward. Overall the games went very well; each Kettering team challenged the Wellingborough opposition and enjoyed playing in some tight games.
This Wednesday training is on as usual and next Sunday (12th of October) we are away at Stamford.
