The under 10's arrive at Waverly road pleased to have the opportunity to practise their rugby in this three way friendly against Olney and Leamington Spa.
The boys were split into two teams plus subs after yet another impressive turnout. The first game saw Kettering face a strong Olney side who had something to prove after the Saints tournament. The game started well with both teams eager to get across the try line. The ball was passed well and the tackling was excellent. The training is really paying off, with confidence increasing week on week for every member of the team. Kettering made an impressive start to the day winning 5-2. Scorers in this match were Connor Napier (2), Robson Dabs (2) and Benji Leasing (1).
The second match was against Leamington Spa and again the boys moved the ball well and held Leamington Spa off to win comfortably 5-1. Try scorers here were, Toby Peel (1), Rory Tyrell (2), Callum Smyth (1) and Harvey Freeman (1).
The third match saw us face Olney again who this time were not to be beaten. Impressive speed and ripping of the ball saw Olney win 6-1. Rory Tryell the only try scorer for Kettering.
The last match against Leamington Spa saw Ketteing win comfortably again with a 5-2 victory. Try scorers to be listed asap.
Whilst Olney faced Leamington Spa Kettering played against each other and got some additional game practise. The Blues played the Whites and whilst the score wasn't recorded (my fault, sorry) I can confidently say that Kettering won!
Attitudes and behaviour demonstrate the passion that all the boys have for the game of rugby and their desire to succeed is matched by their performace on the pitch. Well done boys you are as always an asset to the club!
