The Blues arrived at a MUDDY ground to face the Vipers and Syston teams. Yet another great turn out by the Kettering side with two teams plus subs arriving for this friendly.
The first match saw Kettering play the Vipers and win with an impressive 7-2 scoresheet. Excellent tackling and passing saw the boys to victory in this match which would have been 8-2 had Tommy Eager's try not been disallowed. The try scorers were: Robson Dabbs (2), Callum Smyth (1), Kacey Tyrell (2), Tom Cawthorn (1) and Marcus Ferguson(1).
The second match was against a big Syston side. But size doesnt count for everything in this game and Kettering proved this by winning 5-0. Excellent defence and support for the drives in this match saw Logan De Kock, Rory Tyrell, Harvey Freeman, Thomas Duffin and Luca Stables all score one each.
The third match was against Syston again and Kettering maintained their winning streak winning 3-1. Excellent team work was demonstrated here alongside some superb rucking and mauling that wouldn't have been out of place in the Aviva Permiership! Try scorers here were Toby Peel (2) and Tommy Eager or 'Two Hands' (1).
The fourth match was against the Vipers who put up a valiant effort but by this time Kettering are brimming with confidence and finish the job 6-0. Tremendous effort was put in by all participants which consequently made try scorers of Logan De Cock (2), Benji Leesing (1), Rory Tyrell (2) and Connor Napier (1).
The final match against Vipers allowed us to mix up the two teams and get all of the boys on the pitch at one time or another. The Blues then cruised to a 9-2 victory. Try scorers here were Benji Leesing (2), Robson Dabbs (1), Tom Cawthorn (1), Thomas Duffin (1), Callum Smyth (1), Luca Stables (1), Kacey Tyrell (1) and Billy Eyles (1).
It was evident that all the players and parents enjoyed a successful and sunny Sunday morning in Leicester. There were smiles all round as the boys collected their well deserved hot dogs. Keep up the good work everyone!
