Under 10's storm to victory in the first match of the year!

The first match of 2014 started on a beautiful if cold sunny day with two full teams plus subs turn out.

The boys were pleased to be back together after the Christmas break and this showed on the pitch before the matches with a mini training session.

The boys were the split into one team called the Blues and another called the Whites. The first match saw the Blues face Kesteven. The boys took their time to get going but in the second half they settled into their normal pattern and the tackling and passing was very good. Kettering won the match 2-1. Both trys were scored by Rory Tryell. Well done!

The second match saw the Whites face Stamford. This was a fast paced match and Stamford pushed the boys hard. Massive runs were made by both sides and going into half time the score was 1-1. The Whites came out fighting in the second half and it went all their way with Tom Cawthorn scoring 2, Benji Leesing scoring 2, Billy Eyles scoring 1 and Robson Dabbs scoring 2. The game ended 7-1.

The third match saw the Whites play Kesteven and win 2-1 with Alex Robinson and Kacey Tyrell scoring 1 each. The score was 2-1 to Kettering.

The fourth match saw the Blues play Stamford. The score here was 6-1 to Stamford. Connor Napier was our try scorer here.

The fifth match saw the Blues play another Stamford side. Stamford won again 4-1. Rory Tyrell made the score sheet on this occasion.

The last match of the day saw the Whites play Stamford and was won 6-0 by Kettering. Robson Dabbs scoring 2, Kacey Tyrell scoring 2, Rory Tyrell scoring 1 and Connor Napier scoring 1.

The day ended with big smiles from all of the under 10's squad after some thoroughly good rugby. It was a fabulous opportunity to practice and improve our skills and every member of the team gave it their all. Well done boys, as always you show great enthusiasm for the team and for the game of rugby, keep it up!!
