Unfortunately the first games of the season did not yield the required result despite an excellent effort by The Blues

Depending on which route you took the U10's travelled through 3 counties to taken on Ampthill RFC.

An excellent turnout by the U10's allowed for two teams. Following on from the 2011/12 tradition, the team was split into 'Whites' & 'Blues'.

The morning started with the usual warm up routine of parents having to fetch copious amounts of caffeine for the coaches. Also, the WAG attendance was pretty good for an away game.

As the games got underway it was evident that the squad was fired up. The Whites proved dominent in their first game with Rory Ward scoring the winning try. The second game was lost with two very quick tries by the home team.

Fatigue then set in for The Whites in their 3rd and final game which led to the home team scoring another win. The Whites finished the day down 1 - 2.

The Blues managed a more balanced final score with a win, a loss and a draw. Zac Byers came so close to gaining a win in the dying moments of the 3rd game but the ball came loose as he crossed the line.

Man of the Match for The Whites was Charlie Fluester and for The Blues Hubert Jones.

The team put in excellent performances all round and as they get more familiar with the new changes in the game they will go from strength to strength. The game is now much more physical and it is easy to see why they tired towards the end.

Next weekend it is Kettering Festival and it will be interesting to see what the team learnt from this week and what they will take with them to the next.

Proud to be Blue!
