Whilst the mini's were hosting the festival, and the rest of the U13 squad were being put through their paces, 11 of the Kettering squad travelled to Stowe School for the annual curtain raiser to the Saints Developing Players Programme.
With the squad being made up of a great mix of teams , Kettering (11), Wellingborough (6) Oundle (6), Wellingborough Prep School (4), Rushden and Higham (1), they boys played together for the first time, and gelled brilliantly to record comfortable victories against Huntingdon and Peterborough, and then the Northampton Alliance. With anticipation building for the final decider against a very strong looking Bedfordshire side, East Northants were holding Beds to a draw in a very tough and fast game when proceedings were drawn to a premature close by a series of injuries on other pitches.
So, 2 wins and a draw for the first outing at representative level: Well done to Kean Mcabe, Sam Rutherford, MacKenzie Coulson, Dominik Taylor, Luke Harley, Charlie Fluster, Charlie Sleet, Zac Byers, Hubert Jones, Matthew Tilley, and of course supported by the injured but Rory Ward. Well done lads - you did KRFC and yourselves proud.
