Break out the ARK , it's lashing down

A very wet journey down the road to ON's this morning, terrible conditions for both sides but a lush pitch and a formidable opposition awaited us, two 30 mins, here's how it played out:
First half ( KRFC downhill )
The blues kick off & immediately apply pressure, quite a few minutes of play back and forth. Not much between the sides, ON's forwards looking very strong as to be expected. Kettering not giving much away & applying constant pressure to force the mistakes. Kettering gain possession in On's half & ball to Tom R who breaks the line to score, Fraser converts. We have Sam working hard at the rucks & Will L-W tackling as if his life depends on it. Superb work rate from these two. ON's very strong in the scrum, they get the ball out but Archie disrupts their 9 & wins another scrum ( knock on ON's), great work. ON's on the attack now but they loose the ball & Freddie collects & powers down the wing & scores, Fraser converts. Some big hits from ON's & we make some changes due to injury. Kettering continue to apply pressure & it's working well. The boys are nearly over the line but it's back for a scrum. We win the scum on their 5m & Sam crashes over for the try, Fraser converts. On's really applying the pressure now but we win a penalty in our own half at the breakdown. Kettering on the attack now, Charlie picks from the back of the ruck in their half & runs a good 20m to score under the posts, Fraser converts. On's on the attack it's a penalty to them, they kick for touch, win their line out on the 10m & the big lad has sprinted up the line, Luca with a fantastic tackle but can't quite keep him out, great effort though. No conversion & the end of the first half.
Second Half ( KRFC Uphill)
ON's pressuring now & force a penalty in their own half & then another in our half, one of their forwards gains possession & runs in a try, no conversion. More pressure from ON's & a scrum on our 5m, we fumble on our line, ON's pick up & drive over the line, ON's convert. Kettering working hard up the hill, lots of mistakes on both sides, knock on's & penalties, lots of breakdowns & the blues are putting in a great effort at these, more aggression this week, ball gets out to Ben who sprints over the line, Fraser converts. More pressure from ON's & the balls loose on our 5m, Archie sprints & dives for the ball & flicks it up to Alex to clear. A great piece of skill under pressure. More pressure from the home team, they chip over the top & it's a one on one with Austin, he puts loads of pressure on the ON's player & forces the knock on, a try saved for sure. Scrum Kettering put in. It's all defence now for Kettering, ON's continue to pressure the boys for the last five minutes but Kettering hold them off & its the end of play.
A really good all around team performance today, good tackling with a low missed tackle count, great defence from forwards & backs, speed too & competition at the ruck, good pressure of the opposition to stop them getting any momentum & some good skills under pressure. A tough game for Raoul's first match but he faced up well, Luca being one of our less experienced players making a real difference on the pitch & as usual the boys coping well with the constant personal changes. Well done team!
ON's 17 - 35 Kettering
Tries: Tom R 1, Freddie 1, Sam 1, Charle 1 & Ben 1
Conversions: Fraser 5 ( 100% kicking record today)
10 points from conversions, well worth all the kicking practice.
