Kettering travelled to Leicester Forest with depleted numbers, half term, holidays and injuries taking their toll. Travelling player numbers totalled 14, Leicester Forest kindly offered to donate a couple of players to ensure both sides played 15 aside.
Kettering started the first half well scoring a good few tries, still finding their feed in terms of new positions and combinations.
The second half was a complete turnaround, Leicester Forest exchanged the players that Kettering ‘borrowed’ and the away team put out a stronger team. Forest coaches let us know this prior to the game so it wasn’t unexpected. The tide turned, all points were scored by Leicester Forest, Kettering were unable to get continuity, experiencing difficulties at the breakdown.
Leicester Forest pulled the game back and finished the game a score ahead…..reminiscent of the previous week’s result.
Thank you to the Leicester Forest boys who played alongside Kettering, much appreciated.
