Kettering were a bit slow out of the blocks for the first 10 minutes, with missed tackles and not rucking to secure the ball. They had a bit of a wake up call as Wellingborough put the pressure on and moved the ball for a couple of breakaway tries. Kettering then used the ball to ship out to the wingers who made good ground. Eventually it paid off with a try. Half time score was Wellingborough 10, Kettering 5.
With renewed vigour Kettering went into the second half determined. The forwards did their job with fantastic displays from Manu Jerome Guarin, Ben Gordan, Charlie Robinson and Luke Benson. Tim Hale sprinted from half way to run in a great try which was converted by Arthur Jones. Wellingborough came back at us and although we defended really well they managed to go over the line. The Blues still kept on working, passing and gaining ground. There was a great display of athletisism from Tim Hale and Jake Lewington who ran in a good try which again Arthur Jones converted. Yet again Wellingborough came back and scored. The Blues were one point down with one minute to go. They kept their heads and dug in to give a great pass to Frosty who scored the winning try.
Man of the Match – Jerome Guarin
It was a fantastic display of rugby, well done boys a very deserved win.
