Kettering started the game as they meant to go on, they came out of the blocks with gusto. Samuel Norsworthy, just back from injury, made a great impact with some superb tackles and getting to the breakdown to form a ruck. The front row forwards were superb in holding off the opposition, with Michael Dexter and Harry Browne counter-rucking really well. The ball was spun out the the backs and opportunities kept coming. Both Josh Beal and Tom Connolly counteracted their opposite number which stopped them getting the ball. Luke Conyard, at fly half, kicked fantasticly, with James Wilkes storming down the wing. Ethan Haywood played brilliantly at scrum half, he also converted three really good tries. Justin Morris was explosive at No. 8, he really disrupted Huntingdon’s play. Archie Brown gave his usual demonstrative performance, tackling and rucking really well.
We made a few changes at half time, all of the subs gave a 110%. Alistair Auld tackled brilliantly taking their guys down time after time.
There were two Man of the Match Awards today – James Wilkes and Justin Morris, well done to you two.
Today was about teamwork, the forwards rucked and mauled superbly, this gave the backs the space to run and score the tries. A brilliant effort by all, you can be really proud to have pulled on a blues shirt today lads.
