This week saw the U15’s travel down to St Neots for a friendly match. We took a very large squad so that we could give everyone a run out. The Blues started off in fine form, pushing St Neots back and making them play in their own half. The forwards were explosive, Justin Morris kept upsetting the applecart by disrupting play. Alex Bindley had a brilliant game winning every lineout, both theirs and ours, and also getting to all the breakdowns. Samuel Norsworthy made every tackle count, he didn’t miss one, St Neots definitely knew that they’d been Norsworthy’d. Kettering put some great moves together and the forwards battled away until Archie Brown saw a gap and took the ball over the line, which was then nicely converted by Harry Luthayi. Sam Martindale decided that he was going to take a quick ball from the back of the scrum to dance his way over the line.
St Neots kept working away, despite Kettering putting them under pressure, they managed to worm their way through for a breakaway try. James Wilkes and Harrison Shipp kept sniping at their heels, which in turn created St Neots to make mistakes. Kettering kept passing the ball out wide, which created a space for twinkle toes Rhys Jones to score on the wing.
The final score was Kettering 17 St Neots 5
A great team effort with all stepping up to the mark. Man of the Match for an outstanding performance was: Samuel Norsworthy.
