Kettering U16s Too Strong for Oadby Wyggs

With 3 U15s in the squad, it was with some trepidation that Kettering U16s visited a traditionally strong Oadby Wyggs side.

And accidentally warming up on the same pitch as Oadby's U17s didn't help!! They were all big units!!

Once we'd found our real opposition those fears were blown away in the opening 15 minutes with Charlie Roberts, Monty Toseland and Tim Hale all scoring tries with U15 Robbie Burrell kicking 2 conversions.

A further try before half-time, from Charlie Robinson, meant that Kettering went into the break leading 24-0.

Kettering kept the pressure on right from the second half kick off with a second try for Monty Toseland in the first minute. The conversion by Robbie Burrell extended the lead to 31-0.

10 minutes later Monty Toseland got his hat-trick.

Oadby hit straight back with a converted try but further tries from Tim Hale and Toby Oxford (converted by Robbie Burrell) snuffed out any hopes of an Oadby fight back.

The final result of 7-48 to Kettering was just reward from some very enterprising play.
