Some admirable defence from Blues at times however just weren't at the races when it mattered.

Following a pitch inspection and some hard graft the league fixture was confirmed on at 9.00am. Peterborough travelled to Waverly for the Colts first game in 4 weeks!!!

The first half was a scrappy affair albeit Kettering did defend well as Peterborough used the strong wind to keep Kettering pinned in their own half for the vast majority of the half. When Blue's did get the chance to run the ball unfortunately they made to many errors coupled with poor decision making and if I was going to be kind I'd put it down to a lack of match time in recent weeks. The half ended 0 : 0 and probably best summed up as lack lustre.

The second half got underway with both sides upping their intensity and cutting down the errors, however for all the world it looked very likely there would be limited scoring opportunity. Peterborough had a spell of continued pressure in the Kettering 22 and eventually crossed the line to take the lead but couldn't land the conversion. Kettering reacted well and pressed hard for a period resulting in Conor Featherstone breaking free to score from 20 yards out but couldn't land the conversion. At 5 : 5 the game was in the balance. Within 10 minutes Kettering made another decisive break and when the ball was shipped to Brightwell he managed to weave his way trough 3 defenders to score a good try although no more football style celebration's please Harry. Unfortunately the relatively straight forward conversion was missed. At 10 : 5 Kettering were in control however to Peterborough's credit they continued to front up and eventually got rewarded with a well worked try and successfully slotted the conversion to take a 10 : 12 lead and put the game beyond Kettering.
Another league defeat for Kettering, lets hope the cobwebs have been blown away in preparation for next weeks Referee's Cup 1st round contest v Casuals at Waverly Road.
Finally very done to Colt Josh Luthayi who made his debut for the 1st team away at Coalville, a well deserved honour and no doubt a proud moment for Cliff and Emma.
