Back to the drawing board and time for some honest reflection.

On the back of a good run of form the Colts travelled to Northampton Casuals for a must win league game to keep hopes of reaching the playoff alive having played 2 lost 1.

The opening plays went the way of Kettering with a couple of decent breaks through the middle of the park allowing the ball to reach the 5m challenges however stout defence from Casuals snuffed out the threat.

With a scrum on the 5m line Blues backs shipped the ball and looked for all world like a score was eminent however a knock on was gathered by Casuals who ran the length of the pitch and touched down under the posts for a simple conversion. Casuals seized the moment and continued to press hard and found space down the wing however centre Josh Luthayi covered significant ground to make a flying tackle of the highest quality forcing a knock on right on the line. A five yard scrum to Ketts was poorly cleared and Casuals, now with their tails up, ran it back at Blues and eventually crossed the line and duly bisected the posts. 14 nil to the home side.

For the rest of the game there was only one side in it, Blues self destruct button was well and truly pressed on full.

The most disappointing aspect for me, the coaches and supporters wasn't the defeat it was more about the poor attitude, finger pointing and bitching at team mates and whinging about playing out of position.

Casuals ran out 29 : 5 winners scoring 4 good tries and but for a number of missed penalties could have put 40 points on the board.

Time to regroup this week, reflect on personal performances and lets get honest with each other about what we as a collective need to do to reverse the poor attitude displayed on Saturday. Many folk give of their time (a most precious gift) to create the opportunity for you to enjoy all that's great about rugby. I respectfully suggest you reflect and ask the question off yourself am I doing all I can in return.

Man of the match goes to Freddie Morris - someone you should be proud to follow.
