Battling Colts Give All in Semi

We always new it was going to be a tough day against a strong Bedford side who always play a hard aggressive brand of rugby. So no surprises there, the game got underway in the manner expected with the forwards looking to keep control of the ball and at the right time bring the backs into the game. The high intensity from the off continued and Bedford opening the scoring first with a try out wide having created the extra numbers. Kettering stuck to the task with Morris setting the tackling standard as he blitzed up numerous times to make outstanding tackles. Kettering pressure forced the visitors to concede a penalty in their red zone which Whitehead slotted nicely to get the Blues on the board (3:5). For the next 10 minutes of the game Kettering through everything including the kitchen sink at Bedford however couldn't manage to penetrate their well drilled defensive line. Eventually Blues earned another penalty in the red zone which was missed by the narrowest of margins. Having given 30 minutes of 100% commitment not surprisingly Kettering began to blow a little and started taking unnecessary risk in the offload which Bedford exposed to score 2 tires and give themselves a 2 score lead going into half time.
During the break Blues regrouped and focused on what was going well, good set piece play and strong defense, to improve, cut out the silly mistakes and don't ship sh.t ball.
The second half started with Bedford the more impressive, they held there shape and very capable no. 10 second a couple of beautiful tries which put the game beyond the Blues.
An unfortunate skirmish at the last play left a bitter taste to the end of the game. Good Luck to Bedford in the final.
