COLTS START WITH A WIN

Kettering Colts started brightly moving the ball by hand in to a stiff breeze. And as Kettering dominated the initial phases of play Freddie Morris was on hand to score the opening try from close range. Olney game back in to the game and mounted a couple of successful attacks through mid-field but it was not until just before the interval that their prop dropped a goal to make the score 3-5 at half-time.

Kettering benefited from the wind in the second half and they used the elements to gain a greater share of the territory. Centre Stephen Farrow and then No. 8 Jack Sharpley scored second half tries tries as Kettering also benefited from a greater share of the possession. Olney, who had defended excellently all afternoon, scored a try of their own but it was not enough to threaten the result.
