Harry Brightwell put Kettering ahead with a neat penalty kick to open the scoring.However,the home side responded quickly with a well taken try and conversion before Josh Plowright added a second penalty to keep Kettering in touch midway through the first half.

After some sustained pressure Kettering worked their way in to the opponents right hand corner and following a series of drives from close range prop Joe Holder was able to force his way over to give Kettering a half-time lead (7-11).

In the second half Kettering increased the intensity and they were rewarded with a penalty which Josh Plowright slotted between the posts (7-14). Yet it was not until the final phase of the game that Kettering stretched their lead. After 64 minutes Kettering recycled the ball three times before creating some space for Josh Plowright to score and in the final play Ashley Marshall ran a clever line and his inside pass found Calum Whitehead who was once again on hand to score under the posts.
