Kettering started well against BBOB, immediately pressing into their half with some cross-field kicks pressuring the back three, however the full back made some excellent covering tackles on several occasions. However, the Blues maintained their pressure and the ball made its it way to Callum Taylor to cross the line for a try.
BBOB's came straight back from the restart and pushed into Kettering territory before bringing the scores level.
Both sides played open rugby for the remainder of the half resulting in some great running from both teams, most notably BBOBs inside centre and Kettering's Matt Winspear. Both sides also defended well and the score remained at 5 - 5 as the whistle blew for half-time.
As the second half started, the Kettering pack started to assert its dominance on the game and much of the play was in BBOB's territory.
A kick over the top from half way bounced well for Matt Winspear who shrugged off a tackle and barged Kieran Wilson out of the way to score in the corner.
Matt crossed the white wash again and this time converted the try to bring the score to 19-5, before BBOB's came back with their own converted try.
BBOB's then gave away a penalty just inside their own 22, which was taken quickly by Winspear who ran between three players before touching down the ball under the posts and converting the try for his hat trick.
A big thanks goes to BBOB's who played a great game of open rugby and also to Kettering 4's for some fantastic open play and great tackling.
