The games was a lot closer than the final score leads you to believe. Brackley had some serious weaponry in the back line that would prove to be the difference, but Kettering played well throughout every position in the their performance of the season.
Brackley received the kick to start the game and attacked, taking the ball into Kettering territory, however a dropped ball brought the phase to a close. The first scrum set the tone for Kettering who immediately pushed Brackley off the ball and back down the park. However, a ball lost in the ruck became a quick turn around for Brackley, who ran it straight back for the opening try.
The first half continued in the same vain, with Kettering pushing forward and being caught out by quick turnovers. Despite crossing the line twice, Kettering knocked on once and were held up on the second occasion and went in to half time 24 - 0 down.
The second half became a to and fro with both teams attacking and defending well and neither able to break goal line defences. Brackley managed one more score late in the half to bring the final score to 29 - 0.
Both teams had a great day out and played their hearts out.

Huge thanks to Brackley for a great game and for being gracious hosts. To our supporters! And also to Kettering who walked off the fields with heads held high and smiles on their faces, and rightly so.
