Kettering 3rds shocked Milton Keynes with a hat trick of tries within 15 minutes of the kick off.

The pheomoninal effort couldn't be maintained however as a powerful MK pack battled to take back the initiative.

Stand-in skipper, Chris Long said, we took our foot off the pedal slightly after a fantastic start and let a strong, well drilled and organised MK back into the game. The Blues pulled themselves back into the game with some excellent defensive work and a committed performance which highlights the continuing improvement as a core of players is developing.

This commitment however has a downside as both Harvey Smith and Jamie Clellancd required hospital treatment for injuries. Chris Long commented 'the injuries took their toll towards the end of this close game, which the Blues could have won with a full side, but credit to all the guys who never let their heads drop.
