Started off well, putting Mansfield under a lot of pressure, but Mansfield managed to break away and take the first score, with an unconverted try.
Kettering came back strongly, and after some good pressure, managed to break the line with a 5 metre drive by Martin Cheatham.
The next score was an excellent move by both forwards and backs, which ended in a try for Freddie Ayears. Mansfield came back again with another converted try, so 10-12 at half time.
Second half, Mansfield scored another converted try to make it 10-19, Kettering never gave up, and eventually with 10 minutes left on the clock, Martin Cheatham drove over for his second, with a missed conversion made it 15-19.
The final 10 minutes, Kettering kept up the pressure, but just couldn’t get that final score. Excellent team performance though, with outstanding games from Reece Coles, Callum Whitehead, Damo Capp and Freddie Ayears.
RAJ Man of the Match: Reece Coles.
