Despite trailing to an early penalty, the Blues dominated much of the proceedings in this game, particularly in the 2nd half when they spent much of the last 20 minutes camped in the home 22, where only desperate, but fully committed defence, poor decision making and one or two strange refereeing decisions prevented the Blues from turning their superiority into additional scores.
Before this the Blues had scored 3 first half tries from Joe Newman, bursting through a hole in the home midfield, Steve Fraher on the end of a fine handling move and Finally a stunning counter attack, started by Joe Daniel, carried on by Jordan Butlin and finished off by Ben Street.
Daniel converted 2 of the tries to see the Blues leading 19-3 at the break, despite playing against the elements during the first period.
Unfortunately the Blues were unable to full advantage of the elements in the 2nd half, and all they had to show for their efforts was a Shane Ling try from a driven maul, whilst the home sides spirited display was rewarded when their most threatening player, their right wing, scored a try from well worked move from a scrum on the right hand side of the field.
The try was converted to leave the final score Peterborough 10 - Kettering 24.
