Despite leading and dominating for much of the first half, the Blues found themselves all square with Paviors at the break, after missing a couple of penalties and a number of try scoring chances. The only scores coming from a Joe Daniel penalty in the first 5 minutes, and an equalising penalty from Paviors right at the end of the half.
The visitors carried on where they left off at the end of the first half by dominating the early exchanges, apart from one great chance the Blues created right from the kick off, when James Taylor intercepted a knock down and the move was carried on to within a metre of the line where the final pass was knocked on and the chance went begging.
As the pressure built the Blues conceded penalties and eventually the referee decided one too many and awarded a penalty try to give the visitors a 10-3 lead.
The Blues came back and should have scored from a turnover at a Paviors scrum, but as with the rest of the game mistakes ruled the day and despite finishing within touching distance of the Paviors line the equalising try eluded the home side.
