The first 40 minutes very much belonged to the home side, but then swung the way of the visitors in the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half.
A Joe Daniel penalty in the first minute gave the Blues the lead, which was cancelled out after 17 minutes with a penalty converted by the ON's.
Despite dominating much of the play, the Blues failed to take advantage until the 32nd minute, when Steve Fraher finally crossed for the try after concerted pressure on the ON's line, which was converted by Daniel.
Then, with half-time approaching ON's at last found a hole in the Blues defence to score and unconverted try to close the gap to 2 points.
With the 2nd half on minutes old the ON's took the lead after a tackle bursting surge from Alex Crofts saw the centre score from 50-metres out. Then, to make matters worse, Daniel was yellow carded for a high tackle and from the resulting penalty the visitors scored a converted try. To lead 20-10 and completely change the momentum of the game.
Despite James Taylor also being yellow carded, which saw the Blues down to 13 for a time, the home side responded well and with 3 minutes left on the clock they had a chance to secure a bonus point, but this time Daniels kick was wide, and in the dying seconds, as the Blues tried to break from deep, a pass was intercepted and the ON's secured the win and a 4 try bonus point.
There was much promise in this performance by the Blues and they will travel to Paviors next week in good spirits despite this defeat.
