Despite this Peterborough continued to compete well and it was mistakes whilst attacking that saw them fall further behind as the Blues took full advantage with some sweeping moves, which saw a returning Andy Byrne cross for a score and then Shane Ling burrow his was over for a third try in a fine 20 minute spell. Daniel converted both tries to open a significant gap which the visitors were never able to close. Keiran Cox scored his first league try to further stretch the lead, but then ‘Boro with some fine kicking from Lowe, who kicked a 2nd penalty and then converted their first try before half-time to give them some hope, as a sin-binning for Terry Pell proved costly.
With Pell still in the bin, Peterborough struck early in the second half to close the gap to 11 points, and start a nervous few minutes for the Blues. Once restored to full numbers, however, the home side responded and 2 further tries, one from Keir and the last from Joe Newman, with both converted by Daniel to see the Blues home comfortably.
