Despite, once again showing great spirit, the Blues came away with nothing to show for their efforts after Matlock took control of the game for long periods in the 2nd half and were deserved winners in the end.
the Blues injury problems continued, but this gave an opportunity to Jordan Bell-Henshaw and Jack Williamson, who both had solid games with the latter making an outstanding contribution to the sides forward efforts.
Outside, Joe Newman, skippering the side in place of unavailable captain, Chris Chapman, led by example and scored the Blues only try in the first half with a dynamic burst down the short side the shrug off a number of would be tacklers and score in the corner. Joe Daniels kicked an excellent conversion and a 2nd half penalty for the Blues who were undone by two pieces of exceptional play by the matlock left winger who beat numbers of would be tacklers on both occasions to score tries.
Things don@t get any easier next wek with the visit of high flyers ON's to Waverley Road, but the side is still playing with great enthusiasm and spirit and will turn things around before too long.
