Blues return to winning ways.

Kettering returned to winning ways with a comprehensive victory over a spirited Peterborough side who struggled to come to terms with the pace of the Blues game although they never gave up and were rewarded with a try of their own at the end of the game.
Joe Daniel opened the scoring for the Blues with a 5th minute penalty and the only worry at this stage was that they were already creating chances and not finishing them! Indeed, Peterborough broke from behind their own try line and swept 70-metres up-field and looked like taking the lead. Matt Nield had other ideas, and turning the ball over broke out of defence to feed Paul Sumner who raced in from 60-metres despite the despairing efforts of the Peterborough left wing. Daniels converted the score.
'Borough hit back with a penalty almost immediately from the re-start, but the Blues continued to dominate and Joe Marsden was in support of some fine handling to cross for an unconverted try on 35 minutes. Then, as the half drew to a close, further pressure on the Peterborough line saw Joe Newman smash his way over despite the close attention of a number of would be tacklers. Daniels conversion gave the Blues a 22-3 half-time lead.
The 2nd half was more of a stalemate with both sides struggling to maintain continuity. The Blues eventually put together a good handling move and Chris Chapman, working hard to get in support, was rewarded with the try.
Then with 10 minutes remaining further pressure on the Peterborough line saw Marsden spot a gap down the blindside and he took full advantage to score his 2nd try of the game.
Disappointingly for the Blues, they let their guard slip and Peterborough scored an unconverted try to gain some consolation for their efforts and leave the score 32-8 to the Blues at the end of the game.
After the problems of recent weeks this was a much needed boost for the Blues and they found their scoring touch again after only managing 2 tries in their previous 3 matches.
