Despite having 7 enforced changes from the previous week, with 5 of the starting backs missing, the Blues put in a dominant display against Peterborough to more than compensate for their disappointing performance in the away fixture earlier in the season.

Conditions were, once again, far from ideal on a cold and damp February afternoon, but Kettering, eventually made light of the conditions and changes to run out comprehensive winners in this re-arranged fixture. Rumours from outside the Blues camp, that Kettering had pulled the plug on the first fixture due to unavailabilities had added fuel to the Blues fire, and with a number of players having their first run-out of the season, there were plenty of reasons for the home side to look for big performances.
Kettering opened the scoring with a Joe Daniel penalty, before a storming break by the Peterborough outside centre saw him cross near the posts for a converted try. 3-7
Kettering hit back quickly and a deft kick through by Joe Daniel was latched onto by the returning Jordan Butlin, who crossed for the Blues opening try, which Daniel converted. 10-7. Peterborough then kicked a penalty to level the scores going into the last minutes of the first half.
With seconds to play, George Newman touched down from a 5-metre scrum and Daniels conversion meant that the Blues went into the break leading 17-10.
The second half belonged to the home side, and Aaron Kelman was first to touch down crashing over from a short range lineout for an unconverted try. Before another returnee, Brett Sturgess, came off the bench to score the all important bonus point try from close range, as the pressure told on the Peterborough defence. Daniel converted the latter to open up a 29-10 lead.
Shane Ling crossed for the Blues 5th and final score with Daniels conversion making the final score Kettering 36-10 Peterborough.
