Kettering convincingly won their latest Midlands 1 East fixture against Leighton Buzzard, which was evident by the 48-0 scoreline.

Kettering began with real intent and Archie Toseland crossed for the opening try after 10 minutes, and with Joe Daniel adding the extra's and then a penalty, the Blues were on their way.
Despite this, the home side didn't have everything their own way and their defence, which has been unusually lax of late, was showing a real steel, and whatever Buzzard tried, they could find no way through the Blue line. This, allied to the fact that the Kettering attack was looking far more potent this week, led to 2 further Blues tries before the break, as firstly Ryan Conyard scored and then Toseland crossed for his second try of the match. . Daniel added the extra's to Conyards try and the Blues led 22-0 at half-time.
The second half became a mid-field battle for some time, and the scoreline stayed the same for the first quarter as defences held sway. However, as the final 20 minutes approached Kettering scored their 4th, and bonus point, try with Jordan Butlin for the first of his 3 tries on the day. Harry Owens then scored and Bruce Keir took over the kicking from the injured Daniel, and was successful with his first attempt, to make the score 34-0 as the game entered its final stages.
With 10 minutes remaining Butlin capitalised on a loose pass to cross for his second and then, joyfully, completed his hat-trick as time ran out. Keir was successful with both of these conversions to leave a final score of Kettering 40-0 Leighton Buzzard.
