The Blues started well and scored their first try in the 5th minute, never looking back as they scored tries at regular intervals to lead by 50 points at half-time.
Despite making numerous player and positional changes throughout the second half, the scores kept coming, with an eventual try tally of 15, with 8 conversions.
Ilkeston, for their part, have a much changed side from previous seasons and are clearly in a transitional stage. Their cause wasn't help by a number of injuries, which eventually left them with 14 players on the field. Despite this they continued to battle, and were rewarded with a converted, interception try.
The Blues scores came from tries by Tom Connolly (3), Joe Newman (2), Ryan Conyard (2), George Newman (2), Will Bowley, Jack Owens, Harry Owens, Josh Plowright, Jordan Butlin and Josh Cox, with conversions from Ben Hanger (5) and Harry Owens (4).
